I've just bought a 2001 funtech sports. I used to have a aixam but this is even smaller. Good to find a club and look forward to working my way through the forum posts. I would like to have a go at making my own doors anyone gone down this route?.Thanks Jon
Hi Jon and welcome to the club. I'm the same in so far as I used to tow a little Aixam behind my motor home but you've made a good decision there because for laughs a minute QPods win hands down. Just one word of warning mate don't get involved with the Frozen Schnaps it's deadly!!!!!!
Permalink Reply by Jon Cannar on August 4, 2011 at 20:59 Thanks for that Chris
As I was on my way to buy my Qpod on Sunday Morning about 10.40 I saw a Qpod going the other way just down from East Ardsley I guess that was you. I've just had a quick natter with Mick Cassell so there seems to be a few about round Wakefield area. Cheers Jon

Permalink Reply by Albert on August 20, 2011 at 0:28 Incidentally Eddie James, since you mention your experience in Parliament Square...
When I lived in Sussex, before we moved to Gibraltar, we used the Funtech very often on sunny days.
One day, we travelled 13 miles around the Sussex countryside being followed closely by a Police Car.
Suddenly, it blew the siren as a signal for me to stop, which I did, in a country lane.
A very friendly police woman got out and said"Its all right"..."yoiu have done nothing wrong"..."you have been driving faultlessly"..."I have been following you"...."but ...PLEASE...what is it ?"..."You see there are 55 entries in the police computer (come and have a look) as we are really puzzled" .."can you put us out of our misery and tell us?"...As she had a co- driver, my wife waited on the side of the road and I took her for a short spin, and then the co-driver. They became instant fans....So...whenever a Police car went past us..they used to blow the siren as a salute, startling everybody....LOL.

Permalink Reply by Roy Callaway on January 29, 2012 at 8:41 Hello everyone, my name is Roy and the other half is Debbie, we live in Dorchester, Dorset. Saw a Qpod a few years ago, in fact a local garage was dealing them for a while, loved the look of it then but had no money.
Times change, kids grown up, promotion at work, mortgage nearly paid, more cash than before so had enough to get one Yippee.
Then it was a challenge to find one, after weeks of surfing the net i eventually stumbled on one in Cardiff.
So I Fitted a towbar to the camper on Friday and went to Cardiff saturday and collected it. Brilliant condition QPod Fun, had a drive round the estate in Cardiff, paid, hooked it onto the van and headed home, tows lke a dream, Got home around 4pm and decided to let the wife have a go in the pod, big mistake, she drove straight into a skip. I forgot that she has never ridden a motorcycle and hand throttle control was totally alien to her.
No damage just a scuff on a tyre phew.
Just need Road Tax now and i can get on the road. :-))

I am Suzanne I bought Ian Hancock's Funtech 50 and I love it !!! We both live in the glorious Central Coast of Australia ( Avoca Beach) Its handy for me because I have a severe back problem and cant walk down to beach and shops which was costing me $$$ in my car. This little guy has saved $$ and lotsa fun in a beach community. Lots of looks and photos from passers by. You should see Ian's other vehicles !! wow ....
Anyway nice to be on board here.
