brake light switch

I seem to need a lot of pressure on the brake pedal before the brake lights come on. Brakes themselves are fine, as are the bulbs and wiring. Does anyone know how to adjust this please?

I did an article on the Drum Brakes a while back.

the adjuster for the pedle is under the dash.

thanks Alex. The brakes actually work fine, its just that the lights dont go on when I brake using the necessary pressure. I was stopped last week by someone who said my brake lights didnt work only to find they did work if I really pushed hard on the pedal.
