Secma Qpod Club

Qpod Club - be a part of the fun!

Hi all,

I am having a little battle with DVLA at the moment whilst trying to register a Qpod Sport.

They need proof of manufacture date which I am trying to get from Secma but I have a feeling that they will also want a certificate of Conformity.  Does anyone have one for the 340 Sport or are they made for individual vehicles?

I'll have a look at my paperwork tonight for a C of C.
i think i have one.
Both the C of C and proof of manufacture have the VIN No. on them.

A Q-plate is to be avoided at all costs !
Lots of Insurance co's won't touch them, others will charge you a fortune.

Thanks for looking Alex, I thoughtt they may have identification on them. These were bought from Unique Motor Co, so no use going down that route!
I have a personal plate that I want to put on Alex and that can't be done on a Q Plate. I am currently waiting for a response from the Secma factory - Oh yes I forgot...... Mr Cunningham is supposed to be calling me back to see if any of his contacts can help! Good job I am not a betting man!
Alex, could you get in touch via email please mate, I would like a conversation on this but not here! chris.manley1@gmail.com

Hi Chris,
I have also had a run in with DVLA about the same issue. They said that they would reconsider the TAX RATING if I could provide proof of emissions, which led me to two garages mentioned elsewhere in these notes. I could not provide them with anythoing other than a photocopy of a document I got from France, but they woulod not accept it. They wanted an original! I think that individual vehicles emit different emissions and that is why DVLA needed something specific to my POD.
Cheersw,
Howard.
Hi Howard, I had the battle simply trying to register the pod. I eventually got original proofs from the factory and DVLA accepted them, however I had to have a partial MSVA test because the CoC didn't state that the speedo was in MPH and that the headlights dip to the left.
All behind me now and registered, road legal and having fun driving round with the 'Pod Grin'!

Cheers

Chris
