We are now in the habit of checking the qpod club for adverts and 'spammers' on a daily basis, removing them and their posts from the website.
Thanks for keeping us informed, we will look into securing member messaging. Please make sure your email addresses on your page is not complete i.e admin(at)cunninghamsauto(dot)com, to prevent direct mailing.
Thanks
Declan

given that there are several of us who are (or at least were) visiting the site on a regular basis, would it be possible to grant some moderator rights to allow people to remove the spam and lock users who are filling the site with garbage.
It would help those of us who are looking for help/information to find it on the front page, rather than behind the commercials. I am sure some of the longer standing members would fit the bill.

did you give any thought to this? I am here several times a day, and still see spam from the same rogue users plugging up the front page.

Permalink Reply by Alex on March 31, 2012 at 11:32 Spam is an unfortunate problem on almost all message boards.
Whilst I agree they should be strung up, there is not a lot you can do to 100% get rid of them.
Permalink Reply by Alan on April 1, 2012 at 22:32 I disagree about spam being inevitable on message boards. Spam is a problem, but I am a member of a couple of other web based vehicle owners club,s both much bigger than the QPOD group, and I've never seen any unauthorised messages on them like we see on the QPOD site. Please don't get me wrong thats not a critism of this site, I wouldn't know where to start in running such a forum and I enjoy using this one. Maybe they have lots of people moderating the content, so they get picked up earlier?
