Qpod Club - be a part of the fun!

Hi All, I'm a newby to the world of Q Pods having just aquired a 350cc to tow behind my motorhome. It came without a towbar does anyone know where I can buy one secondhand please? I don't really fancy driving it home 120 miles as a first trip!!! Look forward to your replies. Cheers, Chris

For the brief period I had a 340cc, I had a towbar on that was custom made. The general way that towbars are attached is by putting a bar along the metal underneath the qpod in the centre. It is really just finding somewhere to attach a towbar.

Shiply is a website that offers cheap couriers. It cost me £200 to have a qt500 qpod transported from bournemouth 7 hours upto yorkshire on a trailer. This may be an option if you can't find a towbar?

Hi that's a good idea I'll try to find a picture and get one of my welding buddies to see if they could knock one up for me. If not I will try Cunninghams as you say. Thanks for your offer to lend me yours I appreciate that but you are a bit far away. Yep Middle age travellers are taking over the world slowly but remember you are only as old as you feel and 50 is the new 40! Thanks for your help. Cheers Chris.

Hi Chris, so... another member who is not so much a new-age traveller as a middle-age traveller!:)
Where abouts are you? You very welcome to borrow my towbar to get you home if you are anywhere near Oxford.
Don't think I've ever seen one for sale 2nd hand, they aren't a fortune from Cunninghams ( link via this site) about £120? or I know that those who can weld, have made their own in the past.
Cheers Chris ( widget)
Hi Jordon - thanks for your help with this. That's a good idea I will call Shiply and get a quote. Once the 340 is here then we can probably fabricate something. Cheers, Chris.

Hi Chris

Thanks for these pics mate they are great and we will be able to fabricate one of these bars easily enough. Again thanks for your help. Cheers, Chris.
hi chris i bought apod last year to tow behind my camper it had no towbar and cost me onehundred fifty quid to have one fabricated on reflection i would have gone for the trailer option there are somany faults with towing these things behind your camper and mine has spenta lot of the jorney attatched if you opt to tow yours then use a cover over the pod they spend there life being splatterd with road debris and be carefull if like me you use the pod as a trailer as the beach chairs fellm on the gearstick and burnt out the belt i live in a small camper and on reflection the constant cleaning the wear on the drive shafts the ease of getting off a trailr no lifting and off course a nice big storage box attatched to the trailer for water and tinned food brooms tools things that you dont want left on the motorhome dining table you may have gone ahead with the towing bar but personaly given the choice again i would tow a purpose made garage and a atv
