Manual start

Hi, I am now the proud owner of the orange buggy which was for sale on here recently. Whilst trying to find a picture to send to a work colleague I came across the qpod web-site with the following info:

Lombardini single cylinder, 4 stroke, overhead camshaft, air cooled 340cc petrol engine. Torque 24N/m at 2500 rpm

Electric starting with manual starting option. Is the manual start an add-on? as the battery was flat the other day & I could find no way to manually start it.

Hi,

I think that it refers to the pull starts that are available to purchase from cunninghams. I seem to remember £130 for some reason.

These buggies use the same engine as the qpods so I imagine that although I am speaking generally, it still applies for your engine.

It may still be an idea to get a new battery though. Did you buy the vehicle new?

Hi Jordan, thanks for the reply. That is why I couldn't find it.

It is an 07 Pod with only 1150km on the clock so not really used much. I have charged the battery with my motorcycle charger & everything seems to be holding so I am keeping fingers crossed. I have the towing bar attachment as I plan to hang it on the back of the camper so I can collect it quite a few times for £130.

Hi,

Just another thought, Can these semi-automatics be bump started? I know that in my QT I would have been absolutely stuck wthout the bump start, the hills of Yorkshire are really useful.

Does anyone know whether a semi-automatic could be bump started?
