Qpod 50cc city carb probs.

I was dissasembling my friends qpod to try and make it work and whilst disconnecting bits from the carburetor i saw an unnatached tube, with a matching nozzle on the carb to recieve it. This is not the fuel pipe but attaches in a similar fasion by the looks of it. The pipe is black in has a braided exterior. What is this for?

Hi Geoff this is a vacum pipe

when you turn over the engine it operates a valve to let the petrol enter the carb
