Hi
The cracking on the mudguards is a very common issue, they are riveted on at the side of the body too but can be replaced, I think Richard Gerrard used some from a trailer - most of us just put up with it!
I believe that it is illegal to drive on public roads without mudguards The vibrating in motion will also be partly due to the nobbly tires.
I use a motorcycle tax disc holder and bolt it onto the rear nearside bumper bolt facing outwards.
Regards
Chris

I can answer 2 of your queries.
Mudguards: I have a 50cc 3 wheeled Qpod and get through mudguards like nobody's business. The plastic is rather flimsy and mine break at the mounting points which are plastic flanges. I've recently had them repaired and metal plated so hopefully this might help to strengthen them. So in answer to your question - no it's not unusual.
Tax Disc: Go to http://www.secur-i-disc.co.uk/ they sell a brilliant police approved tamper proof tax disc holder and last year they were £1.50. It mashes up the disc if and when you remove it. I've got one on my pod, hubby's Goldwing and 2 cars - brilliant.
Hope this helps,
Jaquelyn

Permalink Reply by Mike Melnyk on July 13, 2011 at 17:44 Hi Richard
if you are interested in a Qpod Sport drop me a line:
you can have mine in early August for £1400. I bought it two weeks ago off ebay for £1500 and since then have put a years tax and test on it at Cunninghams. The mileage is good and the car is on an 06 plate.
I bought the Qpod Sport as a stop gap on a 500 extre'm bug because I just couldn't wait. I have a extrem 500 the offing for 3.5k but it won't be available until early August, hence I would be happy to part with mine. It also has a small crack on one side where the mudguard meets the fixing bolts.
best wishes
Mike

One solution is to get them off and then beef them up at the fixing points using fibreglass.

Permalink Reply by Albert on August 22, 2011 at 15:30 I have actually considered having replica mudguards made in aluminium.
There are some very skilled and clever people around who can make complicated things out of sheet metal, like replica helmets, breastplates and the like for enthusiasts who engage in re enactments of medieval battles, etc.,
But I have not found any yet. I suppose it needs a bit of research.
I saw once a willis jeep whose entire bodywork had been replicated using stainless steel and highly polished, so I suppose anything is possible.
Permalink Reply by Matt on August 22, 2011 at 15:53 HI, I know someone who can make the mudguards from aluminium but I need a technical drawing (my QPOD Sport is in Spain at the moment so I can't send a mudguard in to be copied. I have tried contacting Secma for drawings but have had no luck yet.
I have had the mudguards replaced twice under warranty and I have just found out that they cost £88 each, they will be cheaper if I get them made.
