small cracks around fixing bolts on rear mud-guards on qpod sport

I viewed a qpod sport 350 and noticed small cracks coming out from the fixing bolts on the rear bumpers, when i raised the issue with the seller he told me this was a common fault due to vibration,is this true?the pod drove very well but was a bit vibrating due to the engine, are the guards easy to replace also?as it has the fat wheels/tyres can i just take the guards off and drive it without them?and lastly where is the common place to put the tax disc as i would worry some git may steal it..

Secma are very unhelpful with everything.

Are the mudguards on A QPod wider than the ones on a Funtech 350 with skinny tyres ?

But the principle would be the same...metal bashing...I expect.

Don't drift away. Let's stay in contact.

I'm not sure about the Funtech mudguards.

If I get them made I will let you know.

Ok, thanks, that's great.
yes Albert the qpod sports wheels are wider than the funtech with skinnys as far as i know, but i have seen funtechs with the same guards though so maybe it depends if people have put skinnys on them..more research is required from me i think..
I have in my garage a second funtech (in a dilapidated state) which belonged to a chap who is disabled owing to a very serious car accident several years ago. As he is not well he was never able to look after it properly and it is a non runner so he gave it to me for parts. I will measure the width of the mudguards and when the time comes (even though they are both cracked) they could be used as templates to fashion hand made aluminium ones. I have to sail to the UK South Coast, probably Shoreham as base, so my boat can undergo refit (new cushions, electrics and mast / sail repairs ) in May / June next year. I can bring them on board then so they don't get further damaged in transit. . What do you think of this idea?
wow thats amazing, its a small world indeed,i am living in lancashire now but was born and raised in Worthing and Sompting, spent many happy hours fishing off the west arm at the entrance to Shoreham harbour.i am actually driving down on thursday for a few weeks to spread my mums ashes and attend my aunties funeral.my father and brothers live in Sompting and Worthing still and i am sure i can get one of them to come over to see you.i spent 4 yrs in the Royal Navy and was planning on buying a new boat big enough to live aboard but i met my now wife who is a land lubber.I would love the chance to fabricate some bespoke guards,i have experience working with fibreglass,Dutton Cars, and am confident i can create something funky and practical....

I know Sompting reasonably well. There is a super pub there and they have (or used to have)  live jazzon Wednesday nights, fabulous. If you know Worthing we lived at Wallace Avenue, Parallel to Grand Avenue. I got fed up with the Nanny State and came to live here 4 years ago. Should have done it years ago. Try to get a boat, you won't regret it. The trick with introducing the ladies to sailing is to do it gently until they get confidence. Exceptionally my wife accompanied me on a Transatlantic (no sailing experience, her first trip with me) (I have the Ocean Ticket) ...baptism of fire it was for her as we caught the tail end of a hurricane well north of Bermuda. But she is a brave girl and has confidence in my ability and soon stopped screaming and howling and got on with it as I like a tight ship. Cooks very well in a heave ho and does not suffer from seasickness. I have looked carefully at the guards on the Qpod and they are different to the Funtech 350. These are flat curves. I will try to get some pictures to post of my buggy.
