Latest Poddy Mystery - Rod The Pod2 with 500 Kilometers on the clock now has struck again.
Nipping down the curry house this evening since the current Mrs C. is out with her buddies I suddenly find Rod is losing power and will not go above 25mph!!!! Highly embarasing in the city centre but I figure that since the engine is pretty much bullet proof it must be something else. Ah Ah I notice a burning smell and smoke coming from the front - I arrive at curry house and decide to check brakes resulting in a burned right hand from the red hot front wheel!!!! Undeterred I collect my Chicken Madras with 3 free chappati's and a couple of popadoms and decide to head for home. BUT it is now bouncing down with rain so I put the Ruby in the 'boot' and head home at 20mph with the smoke now been replaced by steam but at least the rain stops the brakes catching fire.

Picture the scene if you will (those of you that have met me may need to sit down at this point) Arriving home (having retrieved the aforementioned Ruby Murry etc) I abandon Rod on the drive hissing and spitting steam from his front wheels and head in stripping off my p****d wet through clothes. I am currently sitting in front of the telly semi naked eating the rather pleasant (albeit with a slight tinge of petrol since I forgot that I had a gallon can of fuel in the boot from last weeks disaster when I ran out of petrol when the bloody fuel guage packed in ) Chicken Madras etc with the chappatis with my left hand since my right is badly blistered in places and throbbing like mad. Luckily lager was available in the fridge so is being used to cool down the mouth between mouthfuls of Madras (doesn't work makes it worse..)

Depending on how I feel I will probably through Rod into the garage this evening and sort the little devil out tomorrow. In the meantime if anyone has any ideas why the front brakes should suddenly lock up can you please let me know so that I have an idea where to start on the little pod please......

Hi Chris,
Podgy's front left brake stuck on and we could only achieve 12mph. Anyway, I had to have new pads which were the same as a Honda Vision for mine. Would they be the same for yours?
I have noticed though that in the rain her brakes (conversely) grab like mad, much more than in dry weather.
See you in September,
Jaquelyn

IT happened to me when i got my later 06 pod, must have had my foot covering brake as you do, this one must be more sensitive than prev pod i found speed dropping of on north circular from 47mph on sat nav down to 20mph i think i was too busy monitoring sat nav as i was testing bigger tyres for more speed ,prob resting foot on pedal i too burnt my finger when checking disc. was ok aft 40mins as i waited for rac. he just followed me home . I then set about fitting footrest strip next to b/pedal no more problems. Barry.
