Qpod Club - be a part of the fun!

Hi Guys, I now have my 2001 340 Sport home and am racing throught the "snagging list". Windscreen washers are working, all lights function! Front number plate duly fitted, I now need apparently to fit a rear fog light. In the cab there are 3 switches from left to right the are hazard warning, wipers and wash, but the third one has a blue symbol that looks like a heated screen! Can someone please tell me what that one does? I also have 2 spare wires in the centre of the boot that I am unsure about, could they be related?

I havn't got a rear fog light on my 2005 model and i am not sure it comes in the lighting regs requirements for a quadricycle (remember its not a car, which is why we are paying so much road tax for them). Mine has been mot'd twice and its never been questioned, however like most lighting for mot i think if it's fitted it must work. I should check out if it actually needs to be fitted. I would add that I have considered fitting one to make myself more visable in rain/fog but like a lot of things I havn't got around to it yet.
Re the heated screen, my model and a lot of others are fitted with a ceramic heater clipped to the handle bars, but can't remember were its controlled from other than on the dash somewhere and I am away from the pod at the moment so can't check.
Thanks Richard,
The tester (who is also a friend) called the Ministry and was told that a rear fog was needed so for me at this test centre it is a necessity! I cant see anything that resembles a ceramic heater so I think I might just make the switch into a rear fog switch then!

Yup - The blue "Heated Screen" switch connects to a Heater mounted on the steering column.
You should have 2 fairly thick Black wires floating around somewhere under the dash.
Re the ceramic 'heater' as Chris says it's there because for the vehicle type approval it needs to have a windscreen demister. Similar models feature in the justkampers and other vw air-cooled catalogues.
I find mine quite uesful for keeping the screen clear once you have wiped it over with a cloth and if its really cold you can dangle your hands over it when stationary to get circulation back in your fingers! (or left hand only if moving - try the right hand and you stop moving coz you've let go of the twist grip!).
