Alan replied to Chris Cordingley's discussion Gear Lever support
"Hi Chris  I,ve towed my funtech for hundreds if not thousands of miles over the past 10 years  and the only problem i had with the gear selector being selected whilst moving was entirely self induced! I use the bug as a trailer when I…"

Alan replied to ashley james's discussion QPod sport - clutch bearing issues - help needed!
"Ash , Have a read of this thread that was written back in March. I have a 340 Funtech but i believe the running gear is pretty much identical to the Qpod sport. Mine crunchs when selecting a gear - forward or reverse.  Its due to the automatic…"

Alan replied to Paul Purser's discussion 340 Sport top speed
"Good luck Paul.  Ihave added a partial re-print on the clutch adjustment thread as it might help?  The question being asked was actually about the gear cruching on selection, but it might help you too.  Your problem could…"

Alan replied to Paul Purser's discussion 340 Sport top speed
"Hi Paul. My 2000 Funtech 340, running on the narrow wheels, will pull 40mph on normal level roads (and a little more if you can put up with the noise) and will maintain that speed on slight climbs too, so clearly there IS an issue with your…"

Alan replied to Connor McCabe's discussion HELP !
"I think you should take it back or contact where you had the work done.  Sounds to me like the brakes are binding.  You could take it for a short drive, stop and touch the wheel with your hand.  If they are binding they will be…"

Alan replied to Dan burner's discussion Difference between the quod sport and the fun tech
"The Funtech was thye first version as produced and the name was later changed to QPOD.  I stand to be corrected but i think the Qpod has hydraulic (disc) brakes? - whilst the Funtech has cable operated drum brakes all round, the drums…"

Hi Alan NO it is a 338cc sport K.ev just fitted a gearbox he said came from a 50cc q-pod that he broke for spares as it would not sell he said mine had a crack in casing, I don't know if it was damaged when belt burnt out,,or when Secma fixed it,they didn't want me to see them repair it, but when i looked in next day i saw pod hanging vertically on a chain or rope from a ceiling beam rather worrying!, they were very annoyed i had come in and seen this and ushered me outside pronto.they brought it out 1 hour later charged me400euro new belt and fitted hand start kit . Next day found it was snatchy and jerky also jumped out of gear we were now in Boulogne seeing oil under gearbox decided to let kevin sort it so towed it to him. regards Barry Singer.
