I have great difficulty in getting the Qpod sport out of reverse gear. Any suggestions. Rod

Hi Rod.
If the gears select ok when the engine is off, then its probably caused by clutch drag. This could be due to the tick over being set too high. Reduce the idle to the minimum speed possible without stalling. Adjuster is a screw on the throttle linkage - carb end).
If the idle speed is ok, you could adjust the gearbox variator assembly. If you look at the gearbox pully, towards the centre, there should be a small bolt with a lock nut. Loosen the lock nut and make small adjustments to the screw. (I think in this case screw the adjuster in). Recheck for smoother selection. This action opens or closes the variator pulley slightly, reducing the grip on the belt.
Other than that, could the selector linkage be maladjusted?
